The Ministry of Commerce Wants to Empower Madan Sara

The Minister of Commerce and Industry signed, this Tuesday, December 16, a memorandum of understanding with the National Network of Madan Sara of Haiti (RANAMSAP). This agreement, according to authorities, aims to strengthen the role of Madan Sara, major players in the country's informal economy.

The official ceremony took place in a hotel in Pétion-Ville, in the presence of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, James Monazard, as well as certain officials and members of the signatory organization.

According to the terms of the protocol, several actions are planned, including the legal recognition of Madan Sara's commercial activities, the implementation of training programs adapted to their needs, as well as the improvement of their access to administrative and financial tools.

Through this agreement, the MCI commits to training the Madan Sara «who play an important role in the distribution of agricultural products, and formalizing their activities.

«This agreement constitutes an important step in enhancing the economic role of women, while contributing to a better organization of the country's informal commercial circuits,» emphasized Minister James MONAZARD.
