Addressing CAN's Challenges, CP Gilles Boosts the Health Sector

Meeting between Advisor-President Louis Gérald Gilles and the administration of the National Ambulance Center (CAN) this Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Montana Hotel. This meeting aimed to discuss measures to strengthen CAN's operational capacity to better meet the needs of the Haitian population. Several personalities participated, notably the Minister of Public Health and Population (MSPP), and the Ambassador of the Republic of China-Taiwan.

In his address, Advisor Louis Gérald Gilles emphasized the importance of effective coordination to address health emergencies. “The CPT will support CAN in strengthening its capacities, by outlining concrete avenues such as increasing the number of ambulances, implementing a vast first aid training program, and reinforcing human resources.”

The Transitional Presidential Council took the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to supporting key institutions in the health sector, with a view to serving the nation.

For his part, the Chairman of CAN's Board of Directors, Dr. Hary Éloi, expressed his determination to address current challenges to enable the institution to better fulfill its public service mission.
