Assassination of Me Junior Cherilus: The Prosecutor's Office Issues an Arrest Warrant Against the Delegate

The prosecutor's office at the Hinche Court of First Instance issued an arrest warrant on Monday, November 10, against the Departmental Delegate of Centre, Frédéric OCCÉAN. This judicial order follows accusations against him for his alleged involvement in the death of young lawyer and university professor Junior CHÉRELUS. According to the issued document, the high-ranking official is being prosecuted for assassination and criminal conspiracy.

The Government Commissioner ordered law enforcement to search for and bring the executive's representative before justice to answer for his accusations, as provided for and punished by articles 241 and 224 of the Haitian Penal Code.

It should be recalled that university professor Junior CHÉRELUS was killed when delegation employees tried to close the area in protest against delegate Frédéric OCCEAN. Agents fired at chest height, killing the professor who was in front of the Hinche administrative complex, according to testimonies.
