Launch of the #VivDessalines Campaign to Honor Jean-Jacques Dessalines

On January 15, 2025, on the occasion of the commemoration of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, father of the Haitian nation, a 15-day digital campaign was launched under the theme « Viv Dessalines ». This initiative aims to bring together Dessalines' political visions and ideals through artistic, musical, poetic, and visual discussions.

The campaign, which will run from January 15 to 31, 2025, invites citizens to actively participate by expressing their ideas on how to revive Dessalines' legacy. According to Josué Sénat, head of communication, « this campaign is an opportunity to collectively reflect on the need to re-establish the true history of Dessalines and to contribute to a public reform that honors his legacy. »

Personalities such as the musical duo « Lanpè a mouri » and the artist « BèlO » have already joined the campaign, lending their support through artistic creations that recall Dessalines' assassination and invite reflection on our collective responsibility.

The campaign's slogan, « Viv Dessalines », is a call to honor Dessalines' historical contribution to the struggle for freedom and to recognize the need to rediscover a national vision for a respectful and just Haiti. The campaign aims to be a catalyst for inclusive national development.
