Ministry of Commerce Launches Digital Professional ID Card Service

New at MCI: On Monday, December 15, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) launched the digital Professional Identity Card (CIP) service at a hotel in Petion Ville. This reform, according to the Minister of Commerce, aims to modernize public administration, strengthen state control mechanisms, and ensure better security for professional data.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alfred Métellus Fils, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, James Monazard, and the Director General of MCI, Panel Paulémont.

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, present at the ceremony, praised Minister Monazard's leadership in integrating technological tools aimed at simplifying business creation procedures. He recalled that for about a year, an online platform has allowed individual entrepreneurs to register their businesses without having to travel.

“Through this initiative, MCI reaffirms its commitment to embedding public action within a dynamic of modern, transparent, and efficient governance. The project is fully part of the Ministry's internal governance digitalization and digitization program across the entire national territory,” stated Minister James Monazard.

This new digital card will allow professionals to access various public services without physically going to the ministry, thereby reducing waiting times and accelerating the processing of administrative files.

According to Minister James Monazard, this launch is part of an effort to modernize public administration and aims to offer citizens a reliable, fast, and efficient service.
