Official Launch of the Famille du Sud Organization in Aquin

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the commune of Aquin enthusiastically hosted the official launch of the citizen initiative « La Famille du Sud / Fanmi moun nan Sid », under the leadership of Montelus Constant, former mayor of the commune and local representative of the movement.

The event began with a motorcycle parade circulating throughout the city, displaying t-shirts in the movement's colors, with a strong message for the people of Aquin. The atmosphere was festive, enlivened by several rara bands, committed songs, and popular dances accompanied by messages of hope.

To a sustained ovation, Robenson René, one of the initiators of La Famille du Sud, presented the movement's vision, mission, and objective, articulated around three major axes: Social and Economic Action, and Citizen Education for an informed vote.

Engaging lively with the crowd, he insisted on the need for citizens to unite, collaborate, and collectively build a new image for the South. He encouraged community engagement, emphasizing that the sustainable transformation of society comes through the active participation of citizens.

The event took place without incident, in a climate of respect and fraternity. The public, visibly moved by the messages received, expressed their satisfaction and desire to get involved.

It should be noted that representatives from the communes of the South were present, lending their support to this nascent movement.
