At Villa d'Accueil, the start of the weekend was very active. Between the selective interview of the president of the transitional council and working meetings with two other advisors, presidential statements are multiplying.
Choice of a Selective Interview
The interview with the President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, indeed took place. It focused on the current situation of the country, and especially on the war budget. With this approach, the CPT states its reaffirmation of its commitment to transparency and its desire to remain close to the population, with the aim of informing them about state governance, in the superior interest of the nation.
President Jean chose five media outlets for his special interview with Marvel Dandin, @radiokiskeya, Herold Jean François, @RadioIbo1, Wendell Théodore, @metropoleHT, Frantz Duval, @nouvelliste, and Gotson Pierre. @AlterPresse.
Madan Sara, for Economic Survival
At the same time, two other advisors organized parallel activities. Advisor Emmanuel Vertilaire met with representatives of the RAMSA (Rasanbleman Madan Sara Ayiti) organization to discuss possibilities for collaboration and development projects carried out by the organization, particularly those aimed at strengthening the economic and social capacities of Madan Sara across the country.
Expressing his admiration for their resilience and spirit of initiative, Advisor Vertilaire praised “the essential contribution of Madan Sara to the economic survival of many Haitian families, highlighting their central role in the dynamics of local commercial exchanges and in maintaining the informal economy.”
Agricultural Production, One of the Drivers of Economic Development
In another room at Villa d'Accueil, producers from the poultry sector discussed with Advisor Leslie Voltaire. Accompanied by the heads of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) Alfred Fils Métellus, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) James Monazard, CP Voltaire discussed the solutions presented in the document proposed by the sector.
Several decisions were adopted, including: taking into account support for the poultry sector in the formulation of the Ministry of Agriculture's budget; the allocation of additional resources to the sector by the Ministry of Economy and Finance; encouragement by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the grouping of actors involved in the poultry sector so that they can benefit from incentive advantages; and finally, the implementation of fiscal measures formulated in the Finance Law.
During the two meetings, the Advisors and government members agreed on the necessity, with the stakeholders, to strengthen economic capacities with the aim of recovering food sovereignty.
