Barely two years after the passing of Radio Kiskeya S.A. co-founder Liliane Pierre-Paul, the station's legacy is already at the heart of an internal storm. Her son, Harold Isaac, and General Director Marvel Dandin, are openly at odds. Letters, accusations, denunciations of threats: the crisis is breaking out into the open.
Since the death of Liliane Pierre-Paul on July 31, 2023, the soul of Radio Kiskeya still hovers over its airwaves. A radio station forged in resistance, whose founders navigated dictatorship and successive political upheavals. Yet, this media institution, considered a moral heritage in the Haitian landscape, is now shaken by an internal conflict of rare intensity.
At the center of the turmoil are two figures: Harold Isaac, the heir son of the late journalist, and Marvel Dandin, a long-time companion of the station, now General Director of Radio Kiskeya. For several weeks, tensions have escalated, amidst financial accusations, suspicions, and now denunciations of threats.
Harold Isaac produced correspondence dated November 6, 2025, requesting « clarifications » regarding the station's financial status for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. He notes that 88% of salary expenses were reportedly allocated to « Gratification » and « Emolument » categories, leaving little room for regular staff salaries.
In his letter, the heir demands written explanations regarding the allocation of these amounts, their beneficiaries, and supporting documents. He also recommends convening the Board of Directors to mandate an independent accountant for a full audit, in the name of transparency and the protection of the station's reputation.
For his part, in a long message made public, Marvel Dandin asserts that his life is now « in great danger ». He accuses Harold Isaac and his wife of conducting defamation campaigns against him, publicly announcing that he is « on the verge of dying » from a supposedly incurable illness, and insinuating his involvement in banking irregularities.
« Lè pwòp pitit Liliane ak madanm li tanmen sal repitasyon mwen… se premye etap asasina a », writes Dandin, stating that these allegations create an unsettling climate around him and his family.
Recalling his « more than 30 years of struggle and sacrifices », Marvel also mentions an incident on Friday, November 7, 2025, during which Harold Isaac reportedly appeared at the station to confront him, before calling him to warn that he had « already saved his skin and that he was coming for him».
Faced with this escalation, the host of the show 'Dim ma Di w' addressed a letter to the Citizen Protector and several human rights organizations, denouncing these « barely veiled threats » and « shameless defamation ». He specifies that his relations with Harold Isaac were already strained in the past, particularly concerning the station's intellectual property, but that they have deteriorated since Liliane Pierre-Paul's death.
This frontal confrontation brings to light the growing fractures within Radio Kiskeya, a media outlet nevertheless founded on solidarity and resistance. Between suspicions, personal grievances, and governance issues, the institution finds itself caught in a struggle that goes beyond simple administrative management and touches the very heart of its legacy. Thus, a question of succession.
It now remains to be seen whether the law, called upon by both protagonists, will be able to quell this internal blaze. Radio Kiskeya, which has resisted political storms, must now face turbulence from within. For it is imperative, inexorably, to save this heritage. For Sonny, Liliane… And for all of us, pitit Kiskeya!
