Attorney André Michel Condemns Attacks Against Diplomatic Corps in Metropolitan Area

Amid rising violence in Haiti, Attorney André Michel, a lawyer and public figure, strongly denounced recent attacks targeting vehicles belonging to the diplomatic and consular corps in the metropolitan region.

In a public statement, Michel called these acts « criminal » and emphasized the seriousness of such incidents for the country's stability. « These attacks jeopardize the security of foreign representatives and risk compromising Haiti's diplomatic relations with the international community, » he stated.

These incidents occur in a climate marked by a resurgence of violent acts in Port-au-Prince and its surroundings. Foreign diplomats, essential for maintaining international cooperation, are now facing direct threats, heightening concerns about the state of security in the country.

Attorney André Michel called on authorities to take firm measures to identify those responsible and guarantee the security of diplomatic missions. He also urged citizens to show solidarity and collaborate with law enforcement to stem this wave of criminality.
