Bodies Of Two Journalists And A Police Officer Buried

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – The funerals of two journalists, Jimmy Jean and Marckendy Natoux, and a police officer, Daniel Renault, were held respectively on Thursday, January 16 and Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Pétion-Ville and Port-au-Prince, in the presence of relatives, friends, and other allies affected by the mourning. Indeed, everything went well. The funerals of the fellow journalists and the police officer were held with dignity, and their bodies were buried with the utmost respect. A Monitoring Commission – established by the government through its Minister of Justice and Public Security, Dr. Patrick Pelissier – is working tirelessly to define and grant compensation to support the immediate family members of the victims. The work of the Monitoring Commission this week will focus on providing even more significant and appropriate care to the injured, and on the compensations to be granted.
