Child Trafficking: The International Consortium of Haitian Youth Raises Awareness Among Parents and Children

The International Consortium of Haitian Youth organized a child trafficking awareness day on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Accompanied by their parents, this day aimed to offer these children a moment of respite and joy, away from the daily problems they face.

It was an opportunity to express their frustration with state authorities, who deprive them of their fundamental rights. The parents present themselves expressed their exasperation with their political exploitation and the lack of concrete actions to solve the problem of insecurity that has tormented them too much.

They took the opportunity to congratulate CIJHA for this hopeful initiative and to encourage them to continue in this much-needed direction for the emergence of a new class of engaged citizens.

Several founding members of the organization (Étienne Lubin, Kenold Langlois, Barthélémy Pierre Akim, Dory Gaëtan Louis, and Dave Weitzor Solitaire) spoke during the sessions. Their interventions focused on the psychological, sociological, and politico-legal consequences of the violation of the fundamental rights of Haitian children.
