Funds Allocated to Haitian National Police for Operations: The Institution Provides Clarifications

Following the dissemination on social media of certain information regarding funds allocated to the Haitian National Police (PNH) for its operations, the institution published a clarification note this Thursday, July 24, 2025.

In this statement, the PNH specifies that a provisional budget of 272,323,800.00 gourdes had been submitted to the competent authorities. However, only 177,130,000.00 gourdes, or 65% of the requested amount, were allocated by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) as of July 18, 2025.

In its note, the PNH indicates that, although all the requested funds are not yet available, clarifications have already been provided regarding their use. The amounts received will notably serve to support ongoing operations, ensure the care of police officers mobilized in the field, as well as cover several logistical expenses such as Fuel, Per diem, Food and beverages, Repair of vehicles and heavy machinery, Various unforeseen expenses.

The institution also denounces what it describes as a « malicious disinformation campaign orchestrated by dishonest individuals », aiming, according to it, to undermine the credibility of the PNH and destabilize its efforts.

The Haitian National Police renews its commitment to administrative transparency. The Commander-in-Chief took the opportunity to commend the courage and determination of the officers who are tirelessly engaged in the fight against armed gangs. He finally calls on the population to strengthen its collaboration with the police, within the framework of the Police-Population Marriage (MPP).
