In a press conference on Thursday, July 24, 2025, the political movement National Concertation for Responsible Governance proposes an institutional and alternative transition in the face of the security and political crisis that has shaken the country for a long time.
Indeed, this transition, according to its general coordinator, Deus Desronettes, will involve 6 actions:
- present to the country a presidential body composed of a member of the Court of Cassation, the OPC, and the Superior Council of the Judiciary. This body, Mr. Desronettes specifies, will be presided over by the representative of the Court of Cassation.
- creation of an observatory to support the presidential body in the accomplishment of its work. This structure will be composed of a member of the political class and civil society.
It will choose a Prime Minister, who should be a unifier, a competent citizen, capable of bringing everyone together around a single table.
This institutional transition will have to adopt a national pact for dialogue, adopt a national development project, and organize elections throughout the national territory.
The National Concertation invites everyone to embark on this project, because, it observes, the transitional presidential council has failed and will never be able to recover.
It should be noted that the National Concertation for Responsible Governance is not the only political structure presenting proposals to society in the face of the crisis. For example, the plural opposition and the Initiative of the 24 all propose the Court of Cassation as a president to replace the transitional presidential council.
In parallel, CARICOM has already engaged, since last month, in negotiations with the stakeholders of the April 3 agreement. The objective is to find the best formula to resolve the crisis facing Haiti.
