Lascahobas Under Threat from Armed Groups, 9th Grade Fundamental Exams Boycotted.

The fourth day of official exams for the ninth fundamental year was boycotted in Lascahobas, a commune located in the highlands of the Central Department.

Officials from various examination centers had to quickly evacuate candidates already in the rooms, following threats from armed bandits operating in the region for several weeks.

The town center of the commune remains paralyzed this Thursday. The doors of public and private institutions, schools, the community health center, pharmacies, and others are closed.

Residents are exercising caution, awaiting the effective deployment of law enforcement, who are expected to take control of the situation and ensure favorable conditions for the resumption of activities.

In a state of shock, a considerable number of people quickly fled the town center on foot and in vehicles traveling through the commune, according to details provided by local journalists.
