A Dialogue Commission Between MENFP and Teacher Unions Established

The Minister of National Education, Professor Antoine Augustin, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, established the sector's social dialogue commission. Composed of representatives from several teacher unions and ministry representatives, it is tasked with working on structural problems hindering the development and performance of schools. This commission also aims to analyze and propose solutions to current problems, particularly regarding teachers' working conditions.

The establishment of this commission is part of an agreement signed between the Ministry of National Education and teacher unions. The head of MENFP stated his desire to engage in constant dialogue to resolve certain current issues.

"We are not afraid to discuss with the unions; they are historical partners of the ministry and have an important role to play in the transformation of the Haitian education system," declared Minister Antoine Augustin.

Speaking on behalf of the other members of the commission, Jean Lavaud Frédérick welcomed this step taken in the execution of the commitment agreement, signed between the ministry and the teacher unions. He invited all other colleagues to join them to materialize the teachers' wishes.

The commission is composed of:

– Donnky EMMANUEL (MENFP).

It should be noted that out of 6 unions that signed the commitment agreement, 4 are part of the social dialogue commission.
