This year, Saturday, May 31, marks the 10th edition since Excelsior College regularly organizes an exhibition day at its premises located on Richard Jules Street, Delmas 75.
The event, themed « Understand yesterday, act today, build tomorrow », aims to promote active and civic education.
For several months, students – from kindergarten to final year – have been mobilized around concrete projects in very varied fields, such as education, energy, arts and culture, health, environment, and peace. The exhibition aims to present the fruit of these reflections and initiatives, with an interdisciplinary and civic approach.
Contacted by our editorial team, Karine Sanon, director of the College's pedagogical services, emphasizes the importance of this approach. A seasoned teacher, holding a bachelor's degree in French education, a master's degree in education from the University of Montreal, and another master's degree in international development from Laval University, she leads this initiative with rigor and passion.
« The objective is to encourage each student, according to their age, to reflect on concrete issues and to position themselves as agents of change, » she states. « We want them to become aware of their role within society and to develop a critical and constructive perspective on their environment. »
Action-Oriented Education The « Ideas and Projects » exhibition, celebrating its 10th edition this year, aims to promote quality education rooted in reality. It highlights theoretical knowledge while emphasizing its practical application through experiments, scientific demonstrations, artistic productions, and community actions.
Parents, friends, education professionals, and community members are invited to discover this exhibition, which illustrates an educational philosophy centered on autonomy, creativity, and commitment.
