Killing of Kenyan Soldier: Haitian Government Expresses Solidarity with Victim's Comrades-in-Arms

Accompanied by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Mr. Fritz Alphonse Jean, President of the Transitional Presidential Council, and Advisor-President Leslie Voltaire, visited the base of Kenyan police officers on Wednesday, March 25, 2025. The objective was to express the Haitian government's solidarity following the tragic loss of an officer from their ranks.

On this occasion, the authorities from both branches of the executive wished to present, on behalf of the Haitian people, their deepest condolences to the Kenyan Government and people, as well as to all members of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission. A special thought was extended by PM Alix Didier to his Commander-in-Chief, General Godfrey Oteunge, as well as to all forces involved in this crucial mission for the country's stability.

“The Haitian people respectfully bow before the memory of this officer who fell for peace, and reaffirm their unwavering commitment to continue, alongside their partners, the fight against insecurity and violence,” he declared.

The Kenyan police officer lost his life during a joint operation with the Haitian National Police, conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite.
