Pierre Réginald Boulos Threatened with Expulsion from the United States

Miami, July 22, 2025 — The Department of State has officially issued a statement regarding the case of Pierre Réginald Boulos, a powerful Haitian businessman leading a political party. According to the statement, Boulos's presence and activities in the United States could have serious consequences for U.S. foreign policy. This constitutes grounds for a measure of expulsion.

"Boulos had engaged in a campaign of violence and support for gangs, contributing to the destabilization of Haiti," stated the U.S. Department of State.

The businessman reportedly did not disclose his involvement in the Movement for the Transformation and Valorization of Haiti (MTV). Boulos also faced prosecution by the Anti-Corruption Unit for a loan. This act constitutes an additional ground for expulsion based on fraud, according to the Department of State.

On July 17, agents from the Homeland Security Investigations unit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Pierre Réginald Boulos, a legal permanent resident of the United States and a Haitian citizen, for "violating the Immigration and Nationality Act by contributing to the destabilization of Haiti."

The operation was conducted jointly with the U.S. Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service and the Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

He is currently detained by ICE, within the Enforcement and Removal Operations division.

While discussions are fueled on social media, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has just added new deportation measures against supposedly "legal" permanent residents for financing terrorist gangs in Haiti.
